Sarpanch arrested over bribery: ACB
Srinagar: Anti Corruption Bureau on Tuesday said it has arrested Ghulam Mohammad Dar, a Sarpanch of Halqa Panzgam, Awantipora for demanding and accepting a bribe of ₹5,000.
Sharing details, ACB in a statement said that Sarpanch Ghulam Mohammad Dar was demanding a bribe of Rs 5,000 for passing and signing of Labour Muster Roll of labourers engaged under MGNREGA scheme by a contractor.
After registration of case, a trap team was constituted which caught the accused red-handed while demanding and accepting a bribe of ₹ 5,000. He was arrested on spot after completing necessary legal formalities, ACB said, adding further investigation is going on.
