H&WCs made operational at SDH Hazratbal, UPHC Nishat

SRINAGAR: Continuing the endeavours to provide better healthcare facilities to the people of the District, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad Saturday inaugurated two Health & Wellness Centers (H&WCs) at SDH Hazratbal and UPHC Nishat under banner and brand of “Zindi-Paii” to integrate Wellness and Health Services under a single umbrella.

 HOD Community Medicine GMC Srinagar, Dr. S. Muhammad Salim Khan, Block Medical Officer Hazratbal, Dr. Fara Shafi, and others concerned accompanied the DC Srinagar during the visit.

After inaugurating the facilities, the DC said that District Administration Srinagar has given focused attention towards Health care services and all possible measures are being taken to further upgrade and strengthen the Healthcare sector across the district.

Regarding the newly inaugurated Health & wellness Centres, the DC said usually people who are sick visit Health Centres and Hospitals to get treated, the “Zindi-Paie” model envisages the concept of a Healthy Lifestyle encompassing Physical, Mental, Psychosocial, Behavioural, Emotional and Spiritual dimensions of well-being for people to stay healthy and lead a socially productive life.

On the occasions, the DC urged people to avail benefits of the facilities at these wellness centres which include Preventive, Promotive, and Curative services and integrate Allopathic, AYUSH, and Naturopathic systems for a holistic approach towards health and well-being of a person and community.

The DC asked the concerned authorities to keep these Wellness Centres functional on Sundays also as people from different walks of life can benefit from these services who are otherwise busy with their jobs during weekdays.

The DC said one of the objectives of establishing H&WCs is to promote social connectivity and the well-being and wellness of the people of the district. He enjoined the Health functionaries to work in a mission mode for the effective and efficient functioning of the Centres to serve their purpose in the larger interest of the people. He also emphasized giving focused attention to vulnerable groups including socially and marginalized weaker sections of society.

Meanwhile, the local people of Nishat and Hazratbal areas have hailed the initiative of the Srinagar Administration and hoped that people visiting these wellness centers will be benefited.
