KULGAM: The Back to Village-IV (B2V-4) programme today witnessed an overwhelming public response in district Kulgam.

On the occasion, designated Visiting Officers listened to locals, PRIs, and civil society members to have an on-the-spot appraisal of public issues.

Meanwhile, Joint Director Information Kashmir, Anam Ul Haq Siddiqui today on his second day as visiting officer at Panchayat Halqa Shurat took stock of developmental scenarios in the Panchayat.

He met PRIs and locals, interacted with them, and listened to them patiently to take stock of their genuine demands pertaining to their respective areas.

While interacting with the people, the Jt. Director said that the ‘Back to Village’ Programme has been organised with an aim to ensure the participation of the public in the local governance setup.

He toured Panchayat Halqa and inspected development activities. He also sought feedback from the general public on the effectiveness of welfare schemes as well as developmental activities being executed in their respective areas.

The Jt. Director inaugurated sports events in which scores of school children participated.

Later, he also visited educational institutes and other offices and took stock of functioning and available facilities.

On this occasion, the Officers of various departments apprised and sensitized people about various centrally Sponsored and other welfare schemes so they can avail benefits of these schemes.
