In January this year, Arif Khan represented India in the Beijing Winter Olympics 2022. Arif had qualified in Slalom and Giant Slalom.

Arif has represented India in a number of International skiing races. In 2011, he won two gold medals for India in the slalom and giant slalom Alpine Skiing at the South Asian Winter Games.

Waseem Bhat last year represented India in Lebanon. He has many medals at the National level and it will be his second FIS Race.

Winter Games Association of J&K (WGAJK) President Muhammad Abbass Wani termed the participation of Arif and Khan in the FIS race another milestone for the winter sports of J&K.

“Arif made the whole Country proud earlier this year by participating in the Winter Olympics and I am hopeful that this time he will bring laurels to the country,” Wani said.

“It will be a big opportunity for Waseem to gain experience with this race and aim for bigger skiing events,” he said.
