Srinagar, October 31: Police claimed to have arrested a drug peddler in Srinagar and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
“On specific information, ANTF Kashmir (a specialized unit of J&K Police to check the rising menace of narcotic drugs) has arrested drug peddler namely Mohammad Shafi resident of Shopian from District Srinagar. During the search, Heroin worth lacs was recovered from his possession. He has been shifted to police station where he remains in custody,” said a police spokesperson.
“Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 03/2022 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station ANTF Kashmir and further investigation has been initiated. Preliminary investigation reveals that the accused person was going to sell the contraband in and around District Srinagar,” the spokesperson said.
