Drug-peddler arrested in Kulgam
Srinagar: Police have arrested a drug peddler in Kulgam and recovered contraband substance from his possession, police spokesperson informed Saturday.
He said a police party at a checkpoint established at Tengbal crossing intercepted a truck (JK08E-1795) and recovered 10 kgs of poppy straw from it. The driver of the vehicle identified as Saleem Mohammad Fakeer, son of Liyaqat Ali Faqeer, resident of Basoli, was arrested and the vehicle seized.
Accordingly, a case (FIR No. 84/2022) under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Yaripora and further investigation has been taken up.
