DC Srinagar inspects progress of work on ₹7.42 Cr Tankipora Bridge

SRINAGAR: The Deputy Commissioner (DC), Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad Thursday undertook a visit to various developmental sites to conduct an onsite inspection of the works being carried out on the construction of Tankipora Bridge and public Parking facilities for the Offices of Financial Commissioner Revenue (FCR), Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, and Deputy Commissioner Srinagar.

While reviewing the pace of work being executed on ₹ 7.42 crore project for the construction of the second Tankipora bridge adjacent to the DC Office Complex, Srinagar, the Deputy Commissioner was apprised that over 60 percent of work including pilling and other allied works on the bridge has been completed so far and work is going on the fast face.

On the occasion, the DC asked the concerned executing agency to accelerate the pace of work by employing more men and machinery so that the project is completed in a set timeline keeping in view the limited working season for construction work.

The Deputy Commissioner also took onsite inspection of Parking facilities being developed for the Offices of Financial Commissioner Revenue (FCR), Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, and Deputy Commissioner Srinagar.

On the occasion, the DC took a round of all the spaces earmarked for the said car parking facility and passed several directions on the spot. He asked the concerned Executing agency to speed up the progress of work so that the parking facility is made operational at the earliest.

The DC also asked the revenue authorities to issue notices to the concerned agencies for vacating the idle sheds in the identified parking to pave a smooth way for demolishing such structures.

The DC further asked the executing agency to start work on the construction of a Footbridge over the Kut kul to connect the Parking facility with Amar Niwas Complex housing offices of the Financial Commissioner Revenue (FCR), Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, and Deputy Commissioner Srinagar.

 The DC was informed that a DPR of Rs 1.84 crore for the purpose has been submitted for technical vetting and work shall be taken up by end of this month.

During the visit, the DC was accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, Dr Syed Haneef Balkhi, Chief Planning Officer, Mohammad Yaseen Lone, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Raies Ahmad and Tehsildar South, Maean Azhar Kakroo, besides Executive Engineers of R&B and other concerned.
