For the sake of our younger generation, we need to ensure peace, tranquillity: Altaf Bukhari

Srinagar: Apni Party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari said that peace and tranquillity in Jammu and Kashmir is imperative for a better future for the young generation.

He said that “the political narratives and emotional slogans that the traditional political parties have been promoting here over the years have caused huge losses to J&K and its people.”

He was addressing a party convention in Manigam Devsar area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Sunday.

Maintaining that Apni Party believes in the politics of truth and justice, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari said, “We do not believe in the politics of lies and deception. We will always tell the truth to our people even if the truth is bitter. We cannot deceive our own people, especially the youth by promoting false promises and emotional slogans. We want a better future for our youth and the coming generation. And, for a better future, we need to ensure a peaceful environment here.”

He added, “Apni party’s key agenda is to work for the peace, prosperity, and development in Jammu and Kashmir because people here have been suffering hugely for the past more than three decades. We have seen deaths and destruction here and we cannot afford to continue with the same situation, thus we need to ensure a peaceful atmosphere here.”

He further said, “New Delhi may or may not necessarily require peace in Jammu and Kashmir, but people are in dire need of restoration of peace because unless we have a peaceful atmosphere in J&K, we cannot have growth and development here. And, we cannot afford one more generation to turmoil and bloodshed.”

Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari assured people that Apni Party has a clear-cut vision for a prosperous and developed Jammu and Kashmir. He said, “I assure you that we will ensure prosperity, development here, and job opportunities for the youngster. We know how to create a system to ensure justice and equal opportunities for all.”

Taking a dig at the traditional political parties, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari said, “J&K’s traditional political parties and their leaders have been promoting and endorsing deceptive politics for their own political and personal gains during the past 75 years. They have been exploiting people, especially the youth by coining emotional slogans, which eventually caused death and destruction here. The deceptive narratives and emotional slogans have made thousands of youngsters land either in jails or in the graveyards.”

He advised people not to fall prey to the same political narratives and emotional slogans anymore.

He said, “The traditional political parties and their leaders have been exploiting the masses by alluring them with deceptive slogans. At that time, people would trust political parties blindly. Innocent people did not know that they were playing in the hands of deceptive politicians but now everything is clear, thus it is your responsibility not to trust them anymore.”

“The traditional politicians will come to you again with bogus slogans, but you should not fall into the trap of their tall talk and fake promises this time. Let them know enough is enough. Don’t allow them to exploit you further for their political gains,” he cautioned.
