‘Pr PC Awantipora suspended for failing to furnish deliverables achieved under Jan Abhiyan’

PULWAMA: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Pulwama, Baseer UI Haq Choudhary, suspended Principal Polytechnic College (PC) Awantipora, Mahmood Ahmad Khan, for failing to furnish the requisite information with respect to Activities undertaken and Deliverables achieved during the preparatory phase of Jan Abhiyan.

The suspension order issued reads that whereas as per the Government Orders issued for timely conduct of the Back to Village Phase Fourth (B2V4) Programme, all Sectors have been directed to achieve the fixed Deliverables during the Jan Abhiyan phase with effect from 15th to 26th October 2022, it is mandatory to furnish Daily Progress Report with respect to the Deliverables achieved vis-a-vis set targets and Cumulative Figures, for onward submission to the Government of J&K.

It further reads that Principal Polytechnic College Awantipora Pulwama has miserably failed in furnishing the requisite information with respect to Activities undertaken and Deliverables achieved during the preparatory phase of Jan Abhiyan besides it is also found that his progress has remained quite dismal and he has taken this important programme of the Government of J&K in a very casual manner.

The suspension order states that neither any Deliverables have been achieved by the said Institution (Polytechnic College Awantipora) nor has any information been submitted to Deputy Commissioner’s Office Pulwama in this regard, which has unnecessarily hampered the progress on this prestigious Program of the Government.

Moreover, it states that on October 21, 2022 a phone call was made by Chief Planning Officer Pulwama to the said Principal seeking the requisite information for compilation and onward submission to higher-ups but the said officer hardly bothered to respond properly and fact outrightly denied the submission of B2V4 information to this office.

“Such lackadaisical attitude displayed by Principal Polytechnic College Awantipora speaks volumes on his part and constitutes dereliction of duties and official misconduct which attracts disciplinary action. Therefore, pending an inquiry into his conduct, Mahmood Ahmad Khan, Principal Polytechnic College Awantipora Pulwama, is hereby placed under suspension with immediate effect and is attached with the office of Assistant Commissioner Revenue Pulwama till further orders,” states the order issued by Deputy Commissioner Pulwama.
