PULWAMA/ANANTNAG: Secretary Health and Medical Education, Bhupinder Kumar, today visited various health establishments of the twin districts of Pulwama and Anantnag.

During his visit, the Secretary took a comprehensive review by inspecting different sections of the institutions and reviewed the functioning and other medicare facilities available to the patients.

During his visit to AIIMS at Awantipora, Secretary inspected various development works under execution in the premier health center. During his visit, detailed discussions were held with the executing agencies about the various ongoing works. Secretary passed on-spot directions to the concerned officers to pace up the construction works to complete it within the stipulated time frame.

Secretary was apprised of the present status of construction works being done in the upcoming AIIMS through a detailed presentation.

Later on, the Secretary Health had a detailed round of GMC Anantnag wherein he reviewed the progress on the Medical College complex and discussed various issues with the management and concerned officers.

He took stock of the ongoing works and directed the JKPCC to complete all the works in time especially the Lecture Halls, Hostel Building. He also directed the concerned to complete all the roads.

During his visit to the District Hospital Anantnag, Secretary inspected the various facilities available to the patients. The Secretary was satisfied with the patient care, availability of the doctors, paramedics, medicines, and other allied facilities being provided to the patients as well as the cleanliness in the Hospital. Secretary said that the Government has taken various initiatives to strengthen the health sector in the UT and is fully committed to providing quality and affordable treatment to the patients.

He also passed on-spot directions to the concerned officers to complete the under-construction “A” block immediately.

During these visits, Principal Medical College, Anantnag, Director Health Services, Kashmir, ADC Awantipora, Chief Engineer, AIIMS, Engineers from JKPCC, and other officers from the District Administration, Pulwama and Anantnag were also present.
