ADP: MD NITI Aayog reviews progress of District Baramulla

BARAMULLA: Managing Director Aspirational District Programme (Govt of India) Rakesh Ranjan today paid a visit to Baramulla district where he carried out various developmental activities and reviewed the overall progress of the district under Aspirational District Programme (ADP).

At the outset, the MD NITI Aayog accompanied by DC Baramulla Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar paid a visit to Wagoora block where he laid the foundation stone of Tehsil Complex under the Aspirational District Programme. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 38.30 lacs.

The MD after laying the foundation stone also interacted with the PRIs and other concerned stakeholders at Community Center Wagoora where he listened to various issues and demands of the people and got their feedback with regard to the various developmental works to be carried out in the area.

During the interaction, the people applauded the efforts being taken by the government for the welfare of the district. Various initiatives being taken with regard to the engagement of women folk in employment generation schemes were also comprehensively discussed during which the MD exhorted the women to come forward and take benefits of these welfare schemes meant for their socio-economic development.

The MD also inspected the ongoing work of the playfield at Wagila being constructed at a cost of Rs 5 lacs under MGNREGA besides inspecting the filtration plant at Dharwa Wagoora being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 3.49 Crores.

Later, the MD chaired officers meet at Dak Bungalow wherein DC Baramulla presented a welcome note to the MD. She presented a district profile and briefed the chair through PowerPoint Presentation on the progress achieved under the parameters of ADP.

While assessing the performance of different departments, the MD NITI Aayog expressed satisfaction over the progress achieved so far and further issued instructions to DC to monitor all the developmental works and accomplish the pending task in a time-bound manner. He also congratulated District Administration Baramulla for achieving milestones under the Aspirational District Programme.

The DC also briefed the chair that District Administration is fully implementing the centrally and UT-sponsored schemes primarily aimed at providing employment opportunities for the youth in the district by promoting self-employment ventures.

After reviewing the progress of all the departments, the MD laid emphasis on departments to work in close coordination and synergy to remove all impediments in a time-bound manner so that the progress and development are not hampered.
