Jammu: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Additional General Secretary, Dr. Sheikh Mustafa Kamal, on Friday said that the Union Government’s claims on development and good governance aren’t backed by the ground situation in J&K.

This he, according to the NC spokesperson, said while addressing party functionaries, and workers at Sher-e-Kashmir Bhawan, Jammu.

Addressing the functionaries, Kamal said that it was naive to think that 5th, August, 2019 moves have changed the ground situation in Kashmir. “The people in Jammu, Kashmir, Chenab, and Pir Panjal have been ill-served by successive governments post-2015. The horrid experiments have failed like the others which were carried out in 53, and 84. It was projected that the moves will bring positive changes in the lives of JK people, but the reality is altogether different,” he said.

Real normalcy in the region, Kamal said can only be achieved when the decisions of August 05, 2019 are reversed. “Restoration of the constitutional safeguards conjointly with administrative relief and restoration of democracy can only put the beleaguered region on the track of peace and prosperity,” he added.

He said that BJP’s efforts to bring imported voters in J&K is the living proof of its lost ground even in Jammu. “They know that their actions have hurt every section of the Jammu region, be it traders, and small wholesalers. They know that they have ditched Jammu youth,” he said.
