Operation of nine medical establishments disallowed in Anantnag

ANANTNAG: Following the directions of Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, Dr Basharat Qayoom, a massive drive regarding the regulation of schedule H, H1& X medicines and installation of CCTV and adoption of computerized billing system was started by the Drugs Control department Anantnag.

During the special drive, Drugs Control Officers Anantnag inspected the drug sale establishments in the areas of Janglatmandi, Harnag, Batengu, Shairbagh Khanabal, Nai Basti, K P Road, Kokernag town, etc.

More than 50 inspections were carried out, operations of 09 medical sale establishments were disallowed and 4 were given show cause notice for different violations of conditions of licenses and failure to adhere to the directions regarding the installation of CCTV. 

During the drive, chemists were sensitized regarding the safety procedures followed during the procurement, transportation distribution, sale, dispensing, and storage of schedule H, H1, and X drugs.

Awareness regarding re-filing of the prescriptions containing schedule X drugs, and installation of Software with special features were given to the stakeholders. Chemists were directed to submit the monthly procurement and sale statements of the aforesaid medicines via the designated email-id of the department.

The public in general and patients, in particular, are requested to lodge grievances, in case of refusal of cash memo/sale invoice by the chemists on the toll-free number 1800-180-7194 of the department.

Deputy Commissioner Anantnag has emphasized upon all the stakeholders to adhere to the norms strictly and has given a clear message that District Administration has adopted zero tolerance towards drug/substance addiction. He advised all the stakeholders to work in coordination for making the district addiction free.
