Srinagar: Anti-encroachment drive was conducted today by Srinagar Development Authority (SDA) to remove shanties that had come up outside the newly established Children’s Hospital in Bemina.

During the drive, all the shanties were removed to restore the view along the national highway at Bemina and prevent any untoward incident.

Having such markets thrive outside big institutions on national highway is not only hazardous from a traffic point of view but creates shabby clusters and causes congestion, said Harris Handoo, Vice Chairman, SDA.

The general public was also warned to desist from such activities that shall incur action warranted under law.
