78th Wildlife Week-2022: Culmination function held at Camping Ground Hokersar

SRINAGAR: The Department of Wildlife Protection J&K Government, Wetlands Division Kashmir in collaboration with the Department of School Education Kashmir today organised a culmination function of the 78th ‘Wildlife Week-2022’ at the Camping Ground Hokersar.

The ‘Wildlife Week-2022’ was observed from the 2nd to the 8th of October, 2022 with an aim to raise awareness among all stakeholders especially school-going children about the importance of Wetlands and the flora/fauna therein.

Students of all schools who participated in week-long events were present at the function.

Speaking on the occasion, Range Officer, Wildlife Protection Range, Lakes congratulated all the stakeholders, especially students of different schools for the smooth conduct of the week-long campaign/Cleanliness drive which involved mass efforts of approximately 1000 students belonging to different schools

Meanwhile, during the week-long cleanliness drive, approximately 100 Qtls of solid waste were lifted from different spots around all the Conservation Reserves and were accordingly disposed-off.
