Srinagar: Welcoming Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s visit to Jammu and Kashmir, Apni Party president Mohammad Altaf Bukhari Wednesday said the ‘solution’ of all issues pertaining to Jammu and Kashmir lies with New Delhi only.

The former cabinet minister in the PDP-BJP led coalition government said he had a detailed discussion with the Home Minister at the Raj Bhawan here last evening.

“Our party’s stand from the very beginning is that the solution of all issues pertaining to Jammu and Kashmir lies with New Delhi only. Since statehood was among the core issues, we discussed it threadbare and reminded him (Shah) of the promise he had made on the floor of the parliament on August 05, 2019,” Bukhari told the media here.

The Apni Party leader said he also raised the issue of fruit growers whose trucks are stopped for days together along the national highway.

“We also discussed the election with HM besides the issue of hundreds of youth languishing in different jails in and outside J&K; we appealed to him to consider their release. Issue of fruit growers was also discussed. Verification process for recruitment and issue of daily-wagers was also brought into the notice of HM,” he added.

He hoped that something positive would come out as many delegations including politicians, trade unions, civil society and others met the Home Minister.
