Madan Lal Chalotra demands implementation of Mandal Commission report in J&K

JAMMU: State Coordinator OBC Madan Lal Chalotra implementation of Mandal Commission Report and enhancement of OBC reservation to 27% in favour of the OBC people in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

Addressing a press conference, Madan Lal Chalotra was accompanied by Sat Paul Verma (District President Jammu Rural OBC Wing), Sonu Kayshap (General Secretary Jammu Rural OBC Wing), Prem Sagar (Secretary District Jammu OBC Wing), Sardar Sham Singh (Senior OBC Leader Apni Party).

In his address, he said that “Home Minister of India Amit Shah is on tour in J&K. It is expected that the Home Minister will announce the reservation 27% in favour of OBC people which is long pending demand.”

He further said: “We are virtually speaking that it is all due to the efforts of President Apni Party Altaf Bukhari Sahib who used to always voice the demands of OBC Community in every meeting from time to time and the matter was also brought to the notice of the Central Government. National Conference, BJP, Congress, PDP cheated the innocent people of OBC for their political motive.” 

He also demanded the removal of the creamy layer stigma for issuing certificates of OBC, and eligible members of OBC must be given the opportunity in the High Court as the various leaders have already highlighted in the country that justice can be possible with the involvement of representatives by all the castes in the country.

The OBC people demanded to appoint two Advisors to Lieutenant Governor to listen to the grievances of OBC people, he said and added that the political reservation to OBC in all the democratic sectors from Panchayat to Parliament. 

He further said: “Despite being more than 50 % of the population of the country, the OBC Community is being treated with a step-motherly attitude in J&K.”
