Baramulla: A 16-year-old Class 10 student of Islamia School was critically injured after being stabbed by his school mate on a bridge near Azadgunj Baramulla on Friday.
A classmate of the injured, also an eyewitness to the incident, said, “When we were let off by the school for Friday prayers, Muzamil Sajad (also a student) and his friends entered into a verbal duel with Furqan (victim), following which they started beating him near the suspension bridge at Gulnar Park.
“In the melee, Muzamil Sajad took out a knife from his pocket and stabbed Furqan. We rushed him to GMC Baramulla in critical condition while the attacker fled from the spot,” he added.
Meanwhile, police have taken cognizance of the incident and registered a case (FIR no. 182) under section 307 and further investigation has been taken up.
