Water enters residential house after heavy rain in Karnah
Kupwara: Following a heavy spell of rain in Karnah valley, the water entered a residential house in Nachiyan Village of Karnah Tehsil.
The house of Javid Ahmad Badhana in Nachiyan was completely flooded with water, describing the incident he said, “There was water up to the knee level. We are a family of 6 members. We left our home and stayed with a relative. All our essentials got wet including the food items, clothes, and all the other important items.”
He requested the administration to come forward and help him in restoring his house. Badhana is the sole breadwinner of the family of six members. The incident shattered him completely.
The blockage in the newly constructed drainage on the side of Nachiyan road that has been constructed under PMGSY recently is said to be the reason behind why the residential house got inundated.
The locals complained that the drainage system was not constructed as per the prescribed guidelines.
