Kashmir Cyclothon passes through tourist destinations, villages of Kulgam town on day 2

Enters Qazigund, Anantnag before noon, to halt for night at Kokernag

KULGAM/ANANTNAG: Cyclists who were flagged-off yesterday from Royal Springs Golf Course by Chief Secretary, Dr Arun Kumar Mehta, for a 300 kms long Kashmir Cyclothon passed through Tourist destinations and villages Tangmarg, Watoo, Manzgam, Nihama and Chawalgam reaching Kulgam Town today in the morning after a night halt at famous tourist destination Aharbal.

On reaching District headquarter Kulgam, these cyclists were welcomed by the Officers from the District Administration and locals.

Later, these cyclists were seen-off by the Deputy Commissioner Kulgam Dr.Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat towards Vasaknag spring located in  Waltengoo Kund from where they will continue the marathon with night halt at Kokernag tonight.

All the Cyclist participants of Kashmir Cyclothon were encouraged by  officials, locals, shopkeepers at specified stop overs.

The participants were facilitated by the District Administration Kulgam,  Tourism and YS&S Departments during their cross-over via Kulgam district.

In Anantnag district, the Kashmir Cyclothon entered Qazigund before noon, and the enthusiastic cyclists visited the famous Verinag spring. From there they continued their journey to Kokernag where they will halt for the night.

The cyclists will continue from Kokernag tomorrow and go to Achabal to the famous Mughal Gardens from where they will cross Bijbehara and Sangam to enter Pulwama. At Kokernag, arrangements for the night stay of the cyclists have been made.
