Srinagar: Police in Baramulla recovered an abducted girl by arresting an accused person involved in the abduction, officials said.
A police spokesman said that Police Post Palhallan received a written complaint from one person stating that his daughter had been allegedly abducted by one Mohammad Afzal Chopan (Bilal), son of Ghulam Hassan Chopan, resident of Palhallan Pattan.
A case was registered at Police Station Pattan and investigation initiated, during which police recovered the abducted girl and arrested the accused person (abductor) from Hajin area of Bandipora.
After completing medico-legal formalities, the girl was handed over to her legal heirs. Further investigation of the case is going on.
