Srinagar: The National Investigation Agency on Wednesday filed a chargesheet against eight accused persons in a case related to hatching conspiracy by JeM terrorists to carry out attacks in south Kashmir.

In a statement issued here today, NIA spokesperson said that the agency filed chargesheet in NIA Special Court, Jammu in the case pertaining to the conspiracy hatched by local and Pakistani terrorists of Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), along with OGWs, to execute terror acts against security forces in south Kashmir.

The spokesman said that the case was initially registered as FIR no. 50/2022 dated 11.03.2022 at PS Pulwama and re-registered by NIA on 08.04.2022.

“Investigations have revealed that the accused persons had provided safe shelter, transportation and other logistics support to JeM terrorist Aquaib Mushtaq Bhat and Kamaal Bhai alias Jatt (Pakistani national), who were planning to carry out terror acts against the security forces. Subsequently, security forces had launched a search operation in the area of Chewa Kalan in Pulwama in which both of them were killed,” said the spokesman.

The chargesheet has been registered against Naseer Ahmed Malik alias Moulvi S/o Ab Hameed Malik R/o Wasoora, District Pulwama; Imtiyaz Ahmed Rather S/o Mohd Shaban Rather R/o Chewa Kalan, Pulwama; Rayees Ahmed Sheikh alias Jugpeer S/o Ghulam Nabi Sheikh R/o Khanpora, Newa, Pulwama; Yawer Rashid Ganaie S/o Ab Rashid Ganaie R/o Gudoora, Pulwama; Suhail Ahmed Khan alias Sahil S/o Feroz Ahmed Khan R/o Khanpora, Newa, Pulwama; Shahid Ahmed Shergojri S/o Mohd Ramjan Shergojri R/o Ugergund, Pulwama; Anayat Gulzar Bhat S/o Gulzar Ahmed Bhat R/o Pinglena, Pulwama and; Jahangir Ahmed Dar S/o Nazir Ahmed Dar R/o Gudoora, District Pulwama.

“Further investigations in the case are in progress,” the spokesperson said.
