By: Tamana Shafi

Teachers have been acclaimed for their selfless service all around the world from the beginning of time. They have been considered as makers of a nation. They take care of kids from the time they are five or six till they are 18 to 20 years of age. Like it is said, the formative years of a child determine the kind of person he or she would grow up to be, and this is mostly in the hands of their teachers.

I really feel heavenly privileged to write a short piece on such a prestigious day and I hope that I would be able to cover all the contributions done by teachers to our society.

As we all know that today the 5th September is celebrated as Teacher’s Day so that best profession of the world can be respected. On this auspicious teacher’s Day we would express our gratitude to all teachers in our institution and all over the globe.

Firstly, I would love to extend my heartiest congratulations and gratitude to every teacher on the behalf of all the students for always being a guiding light and a ray of hope in our lives. We could have never stood where we are today. Thank you, teachers, for everything!

In our country teacher’s day is celebrated on 5th of September in remembrance of birth anniversary of great scholar, enthralling philosopher, an alluring teacher and former president of our country Dr.Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. He once said, “The end-product of education should be a free creative man, who can battle against historical circumstances and adversities of nature,” and he believed that teachers play a vital role in shaping the minds of the younger generation.

As it says, Life is the greatest teacher of all. Life teaches us the art of survival. Teachers are not only academic teachers. In fact, our very first teachers are our parents who teach us to walk, eat, and speak. Then comes nature, our friends, our siblings, and many others. Today is the day to acknowledge each teacher of our lives. They taught us how to fight and stand once again when we fail.

This day is celebrated to acknowledge the hard work and role played by teachers in our lives. On this beautiful occasion, let us take the opportunity to convey our wishes to all our teachers, who have given impeccable contribution in shaping us. Students across the country celebrate this day to pay respect and thank their teachers. Teachers are the back bone of our society. They spear head change by shaping and building students’ personality and make them ideal citizens of the country.

As one looks at the great impact on the growth, development and well being of the students and nation, one must agree that teaching is a noble profession.

There is a saying that teachers are greater than the parents. Parents give birth to a child whereas teachers mould that child’s personality and provide a bright future. Apart from academics, teachers stand by us at every step to guide, motivate and inspire to become better human.

They are the source of knowledge and wisdom. From them leads the ideas and thoughts, that one day each one of us will use to provide back into this society. I would like to extend my gratitude to every teacher for selfless service and dynamic support. We are always grateful to you.
