J&K reports 152 new cases of COVID-19

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir reported 152 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) on Friday, taking the infection tally to 4,78,083, officials said.

The death toll remained unchanged at 4,782 as no fresh death due to the virus was reported, they said.

Of the new cases, 112 were reported from Kashmir and 40 from Jammu.

Giving district-wise break-up of today’s positive cases, the officials said that in Kashmir division, Srinagar reported 28 cases, Baramulla 27, Budgam 21, Pulwama 10, Kulgam nine, Ganderbal seven, Kupwara six, Bandipora two, while Anantnag and Shopian districts recorded one case each.

Similarly in Jammu division, Jammu district recorded 27 cases, Udhampur, Samba and Ramban districts recorded three cases each, Kishtwar two and Doda recorded one fresh case today.

Currently there are 1,039 active cases of the disease – 785 in Kashmir and 254 in Jammu — while the number of recoveries has reached 4,72,262, officials said. This also includes 164 persons – 129 in Kashmir and 35 in Jammu – who were discharged from various hospitals in the last 24 hours after their recuperation.

Officials also informed that 14, 096 doses of COVID vaccine were administered in J&K in the last 24 hours.
