Srinagar: Police in Budgam recovered an abducted minor girl and arrested an accused person involved in her abduction, police spokesman said Friday.
He said On September 01 evening, Police Post Soibugh received a written complaint from a resident of Khan Mohalla Soibugh stating that his minor daughter did not return home after school hours and the school administration stated that she had not attended the school during the day.
A case was registered and during subsequent investigations, police got some leads that pointed to the complicity of one Salib Ahmad Hella, son of Assadullah Hella, resident of Khuri Batapora Kulgam in the crime, police spokesman said.
He said police raided a specific location and recovered the abducted girl and also arrested the abductor.
After legal formalities, the girl was handed over to her family while further investigation into the case continues, spokesman said.
