Amritsar: The Golden Temple Amritsar was ornamented with exotic flower decorations to mark the first Parkash Utsav (opening ceremony) of the Holy Guru Granth Sahib Sunday.

This day commemorates the first Parkash (opening ceremony) of the holy book. The day is an important landmark for Sikhs as the community considers the Holy Book as a living Guru.
