Congress celebrates 75th year of Independence

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee Monday celebrated the 75th year of Independence, urging the Nation to gear up for united 100-years celebrations of India’s Independence to exhibit the true sense of diversity, communal harmony, and togetherness in the country.

Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President Ghulam Ahmad flanked by Working President Raman Bhalla and rank file of the Party unfurled the Tricolour in Jammu followed by National Anthem. Congress Leaders exchanged greetings and distributed sweets on this occasion while celebrating the 75th Independence with great enthusiasm.

Speaking on the occasion, JKPCC President Ghulam Ahmad greeted the Nation and rank file of the Congress Party on the 75th year of independence, terming the day as an outcome of the sacrifices given by the freedom fighters, who laid down their lives to achieve the freedom to restore the dignity and honor of the Nation.

Mir hailed the great contributions of the Congress Party to the freedom struggle and inclusive development of the country after Independence and said it was the Congress Party under first Prime Minister Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru who took the prestige of the Nation to heights while building the Nation brick by brick.

Mir urged the people to gear up for the 100-year celebration of India’s Independence “unitedly” to exhibit the diversity and harmony, which is the true face of the largest democracy in the world, where emotions and sentiments of all sects were being respected and their rights safeguarded as guaranteed under the Constitution.

Mir said, “the true Independence celebration is to respect the democratic institutions, which stands guarantees to people’s rights unity and harmony, but unfortunately the ruling dispensation in the country has ruined the institutions to serve their vested interests and leave no stone unturned to use these to muzzle the genuine voices inorder to his their anti-people and wrong policies.”

“The 75the year of Independence should sent a message that India can no longer afford to see that democratic institutions are weakened or compromised for a particular person or party and should be strengthened to ensure that the Constitution which allows freedom of speech and expression is further strengthened, which is the beauty of world’s largest democracy(India),” Mir said

“Salute to our freedom fighters whose sacrifices made the independence possible, our leaders who laid the foundation and build modern India, our kisans, mazdoors, doctor and teachers, who greatly contributed to the progress of our country,” Mir added and said let us dedicate ourselves in the service of Nation.

Former Legislators, PCC Office bearers, DCC Presidents, Frontals, and prominent Party workers participated in the celebrations.

Meanwhile, Congress Leaders and workers unfurled the Tricolour at Srinagar Party Office and celebrated 75the year of Independence.

PCC Office bearers, Former Legislators, DCC Presidents, Frontal Organizations, and various other Senior Party leaders and workers joined the celebrations. They greeted each other and distributed sweets followed by the National Anthem.
