Prof Nilofer said she is glad to observe that the DPES has been holding regular sports events which provide a great encouragement to the students to actively participate in them.

“Sports promotion is one of our prime focus areas to realise the objective of holistic development of our students, including girl students who are now coming forward in huge numbers to participate in sports events and win laurels for the country,” Prof Nilofer said, adding that University of Kashmir will hold more sports events as part of Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav celebrations in coming days.

Registar Dr Nisar Ahmad Mir also accompanied the Vice-Chancellor and encouraged students to continue participating in sports activities for their overall physical and mental well-being. The Registar assured University’s full support to sports events involving participation of students from the University and its affiliated colleges and satelite campuses.

Officials and coaches of DPES, including Dr Surjit, were also present on the occasion.
