J&K logs 397 new COVID-19 cases, one death

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir recorded 397 fresh Covid-19 cases on Monday that took the cumulative infection tally to 4,65,163, while one more fatality pushed the death toll to 4,772, officials said.
Of the new cases, 275 were reported from the Kashmir Valley and 122 from the Jammu division, they said, adding the single death of the day was reported from the Jammu division.
Providing district-wise breakup for today’s positive cases, officials informed that in Kashmir division, Srinagar reported 105 cases, Baramulla reported 88 cases, Anantnag reported21 cases, Kupwara reported 18 cases, Budgam 13 cases, Pulwama, Bandipora and Kulgam reported 10 cases each, and Ganderbal and Shopian reported no fresh case today.
Similarly in Jammu division, Jammu district reported 80 cases, Ramban eight cases, Rajouri and Samba reported seven cases each, Udhampur and Kathua reported six cases each, Doda and Poonch four cases each while Reasi and Kishtwar reported no fresh cases today.
Currently there are 4,551 active cases in J&K – 2,929 in Kashmir and 1,622 in Jammu division– while the overall recoveries have reached 4,55,840, officials said. They said this also includes 704 more COVID-19 patients — 417 from Kashmir division and 287 from Jammu division — who were discharged from various hospitals in the last 24 hours after their recuperation.
So far the viral infection has claimed 4,772 lives in J&K – 2,429 in Kashmir and 2,343 in Jammu division.
Till date there have been 51 recorded cases of mucormycosis (black fungus), they added.
