He said that the people have also lost mobile connectivity in the area following the cloud burst and heavy rains and it should be restored to ascertain the factual ground situation.

The people in distress must be provided immediate compensation by the authorities, he said.

“The administration must act swiftly and provide needed relief/compensation to the victims of the cloud burst as soon as possible by sending the rescue and relief teams. The chopper service must be utilized by the administration to drop ration, medical aid and tents to the victims of cloud burst hit village Afti in Kishtwar,” he said.

“The trapped people should be shifted to safer places and accordingly they shall be provided all the possible help from the Govt besides providing adequate compensation of the losses in the shape of property or agricultural land damages,” he added.

He said that the heavy rains have also damaged properties and agricultural land in upper reaches of Kishtwar, Doda and Ramban Districts. Therefore, the Govt should send teams for the rescue of the people in the upper reaches as well as for the assessment of the losses suffered by the people.

“The quick response teams should be dispatched with the equipments to the cloudburst hit area and other heavy rains affected areas to help the people in need in Warwan, Dacchan, Marwah, Padder and other remote areas of Kishtwar and other two Districts of Chenab Valley,” he added.

He said that the landslides have also blocked road connectivity in many interior areas of Chenab valley due to heavy rains and they should be restored at the earliest.

He also appealed to the people to stay away from the water bodies. He directed the Apni Party leaders and workers to help the flash flood affected people and the administration in rescue operations.
