Artist and Artwork

NEVERCREW is a Swiss street art group founded in 1996 by Christian Rebecchi and Pablo Togni. They have been working together since meeting 20 years ago at an art school in Lugano, Switzerlandwhile they were both students. NEVERCREW develops large-scale murals, installations, and urban interventions based on their perspective on human-environment interaction.

As published on nevercrew.com the NEVERCREW’s work focuses on the relationship between mankind and nature and on the relationship between mankind and the system, in particular on the effects of human attitudes on the environment, on social injustices and on the relationship between the concept and the forms of “systems” and an essential, natural, human and animal truth.

From Oil-dipped polar bears to commodified whales NEVERCREW expertly illustrates the degenerating relationship of humans with nature. They with their ideas and unique representation realized public works in major cities around the world including New Delhi; Belgrade, Serbia; Munich; Hamburg, Germany; Manchester, England; and Rochester, New York. They were awarded by the Bally Cultural Foundation as artists of the year 2012″and they were included in Graffiti Art Magazine’s 100 most influent urban artists of the year in “The Urban Contemporary Art Guide 2015”.

On the 2016 issue of Graffiti Art Magazine, Julien Vittores claimed that Nevercrew’s style was founded on their mutual communication as a duo. They focus on the idea of “comparison,” and in fact, it is via comparison that they express their ideas about the state of humanity and the interaction between humans and the natural world in a visual and intellectual manner.
