Zainageer: Peoples Conference Sr. Vice President and Former minister Abdul Gani Vakil today said the greed for power of the National Conference and PDP is the main reason for the prevailing chaos and insecurity in Kashmir and said these parties can go to any extent for the sake of power.

While addressing a gathering of party workers in Zainageer Rafiabad today Vakil reminded people that it was the leadership of NC which brought black laws like POTA and PSA to J&K and “turned the valley into a prison of despair”.

In the convention, more than two hundred workers of different parties joined the People’s Conference led by retired DFO Mushtaq Ahmad Lone and expressed full faith in the leadership of Sajad Gani Lone and assured party leadership that they will leave no stone unturned in fighting against the dynastic rule.

“NC and PDP leadership at the time of elections always promise heavens to gullible people of Kashmir but once they are trusted back to power, they not only backtrack from their election promises but also bring disaster and catastrophe for the people of Kashmir. NC has always promised autonomy but never tried to restore it, PDP always promised Self Rule but never dared to speak about it in power. Instead, history has proved how the dynastic parties collaborated with Delhi in eroding the left out autonomy enjoyed by the erstwhile state,” he added.

Vakil asserted that NC and PDP are the two sides of the same coin and their dynastic rule inflicted only misery on the common people of Kashmir. Holding both these parties responsible for nepotism and deep-rooted corruption in state, Vakil said that “It is NC and PDP which institutionalized corruption in state and fixed rates for even class fourth recruitments.”

Appealing to the people to not fall into the trap of the deceptive politics of these two parties, he said that it is time to defeat these dynastic parties and throw them out of the political spectrum of J&K.

Vakil also demanded a thorough investigation in 1987 election rigging which led to armed rebellion which has consumed hundreds of thousands of lives till now.

“Mass rigging in 1987 elections, is responsible for both the current sorry state of affairs in valley and bloodbath. People of J&K deserve to know the truth,” Vakil added.

Others who addressed the convention include Mushtaq Ahmad Lone retired DFO, Bashir Ahmad retired Tehsildar, BDC Chairman Ghulam Mohammad Mir, Sr. PC Leaders Tariq Ahmad Hachepori, Fayaz Ahmad Naikoo, Muzzafar Naikoo, Youth Leaders Tasleema Akhtar, Umar Rashid among others.
