Cloudburst triggers flash floods in Hamam-Markoot Rafiabad

Baramulla: Flash floods were triggered by a cloudburst in Hamam-Markoot village, a tourist spot located in Rafiabad in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

According to the locals, the flash floods caused damage to standing crops and roads. “The stranded tourists were guided and asked to use alternate routes to ensure their safe evacuation from the site,” they said.

Tehsildar Dangiwacha, Sajad Rasool Shah, said that the flash floods caused damage to standing crops and roads, however, there was no loss of life or public property or injury to any person owing to the cloudburst.
