Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference on Tuesday expressed concern over the plight of protesting selected Finance Account Assistant candidates, saying the deserving candidates should not be forced to pay the price for malpractices of few.

Echoing the sentiments of scores of FAA selected candidates, Party’s State Spokesperson Imran Nabi Dar said that the selected candidates are apprehensive that the government might scrap the entire selection process. “While the investigation into the malpractices of the recruiting agency is a welcome step, undue victimization of deserving selected candidates is not. Why should the deserving candidates pay for the folies of a few mischievous elements? This will be sheer injustice with hundreds of aspirants who have studied day and night and have passed the rigorous with flying colors,” he said adding, “Those who are found culpable should be punished but not at the cost of others. Once the black sheep are spotted, the government should take punitive action against them and continue with the remaining selection process and release the final selection list forthwith.”

Having the entire selection process scrapped will dishearten, disappoint the educated youth of J&K, Imran said adding, “Here the future of 972 candidates is at stake for no fault of theirs. So far no one from the administration has visited the protesting candidates to do away their misgiving, if any. All we have been seeing is the government resorting to lathi charge on these educated youth. We condemn the high-handedness against the candidates in the strongest possible terms.”
