Cop dies in road accident on Sgr-Jmu highway

Bijbehara: A Jammu and Kashmir police personnel was killed and another injured in a road accident at Bijbehera area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag on Thursday morning, officials said.

An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that two off-duty cops on way to home were injured after a vehicle hit their motorcycle at Zirpora area of Bijbehera.

He said that the duo was shifted to nearby hospital for treatment, where one of them succumbed to his injuries.

He identified the deceased as Tariq Ahmad Ahanger from Verinag while the injured has been identified as Ishfaq Ahmad Ahanger from Nowpora Dooru.

The official said that both were posted in IR 23 Battalion and were on way to home—(KNO)
