Covid cases show upward trend in J&K, 113 test positive on Wednesday

Srinagar: The Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir has been recording a gradual increase in Covid-19 positive cases from past several weeks as the numbers of fresh cases crossed 100 today.

Officials said that 113 fresh cases were reported from the UT taking the total number of positive cases to 455588.

“78 cases were reported from Jammu division and 35 from Kashmir division”, said the officials.

However, no fresh infection related death was reported today, they said, adding, the total deaths remain at 4757 while as there are 641 active positive cases in J&K.

Providing district-wise breakup, the officials said that Jammu district reported 62 cases; Srinagar 30; Udhampur 06; Kathua 05; Samba, Rajouri, Budgam and Shopian reported 02 cases each while as Baramulla and Doda reported 01 case each.

They said that 8,257 doses of Covid vaccine were administered in the last 24 hours bringing the cumulative number of doses administered across J&K to 2,33,60,058.
