IED recovered on highway at Pattan, diffused

Baramulla: Security forces on Wednesday morning detected a suspected improvised explosive device (IED) at Pattan along Srinagar-Baramulla highway, officials said.

Official sources said an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) was detected along the roadside at the dog turn (Kutta mod) area of Pattan on Srinagar Baramulla National Highway by joint security forces.

An official said that a bomb disposal squad was called in which defused the IED.

Traffic movement on the highway was suspended for sometime but restored later, officials said.
