Motorcyclist, pillion rider killed in Lolab accident

Cop dies in road accident on Sgr-Jmu highway

Lolab: A motorcyclist and his pillion rider were killed in a road accident in Lolab area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Monday, officials said.
Officials told Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that a motorcycle bearing registration number JK01AB-3829 was hit by a vehicle at Lolab area, leaving two persons including the motorcyclist as well as his pillion rider critically injured.
Soon after the incident, the officials said that the duo was shifted to a nearby hospital where the doctors declared them dead.
They further said that after conducting legal medical formalities, the bodies of the duo were handed over to their relatives for last rites.
Identifying the deceased as Adil Ahmad Shah, son of Nisaar Ahmad Shah and Rashid Ahmad Shah, son of Ghulam Hassan Shah—both residents of Hayatpora area of Lolab, the officials said that a case under FIR number 37/2022 under sections 279, 337, 304A IPC has been registered and further investigation into the matter is going on.
Officials said that the vehicle bearing registration number JK09-9247 involved in the accident has been seized while the driver has been also arrested.
