Kargil Victory Flame reaches JAK LI Center

Srinagar: To commemorate the bravery and valour of Indian Armed Forces during OP VIJAY, ‘Kargil Victory Flame’ commenced its glorious run from Udhampur, HQ Northern Command on Jun 17, 2022 and received ceremoniously in a grand reception at Chuni Lal Dwar of the J&K Light Regimental Centre on July 02, 2022, said PRO (Defence) Srinagar.

“The Victory Flame was then handed over to Kargil War Veterans who participated in OP VIJAY,” the PRO said.

“Victory run which was organised with veterans and serving soldiers reached the ‘Kargil Point’, a memorial dedicated to the War Heroes and Bravehearts of ‘OP VIJAY’. The Flame was then placed in the War Memorial of the Regimental centre for wreath-laying by Veterans and serving soldiers with full military honours,” he said.

“The Victory run culminated at the Nongrum Auditorium, named after Capt KC Nongrum, MVC(P) of 12 JAK LI for his supreme sacrifice during the capture of Point 4812 in Kargil War. The event was graced by more than 40 Kargil War Veterans & Veer Naris, concluded with re-affirmed resolve for continued and selfless service to the Nation by all ranks,” he added.
