MUMBAI: The Jammu and Kashmir Tourism department participated in the 5th Global Film Tourism Conclave (GFTC) here.

Union Minister of Minority Affairs, Mukhtar Abas Naqvi was the Chief Guest on the occasion.

Secretary Tourism, Govt of India, Arvind Singh; dignitaries from Film Industry like Randhir Kapoor, Manoj Joshi, Anees Bhazmee, Rahul Rawail, Nandita Puri, among others were also present.

Naqvi along with other dignitaries visited the J&K Tourism stall represented by Ghulam Jeelani Zargar, CEO Gulmarg Development Authority.

Special Secretary, J&K Tourism department, Amarjeet Singh on the occasion had a detailed presentation regarding various Locations and facilities as well as incentives for film production in J&K.

During the panel discussion, the Special Secretary Tourism impressed upon the film makers to come and shoot in the J&K and explore the pristine beauty of Jammu and Kashmir.

Amarjeet Singh informed that J&K has a single Window system of issuing permissions for shooting of films, songs, documentaries, web series, TV serials etc.

Quoting about a tourist guide, Shakeel Ahmed who lost his life few days back while trying to save a tourist, the Special Secretary spoke about the Hospitality and the level of commitment of the service providers associated with the Tourism sector in J&K and requested the production houses to give Jammu and Kashmir an opportunity to host them.

Ambassadors of Panama, Republic of Cuba, Poland, Director of Spain Tourism also presented their views on film production facilities in their countries. 

During the conclave, visiting officers from J&K interacted with the Media and highlighted the potential of J&K for shooting of Films, serials, Short Films, webseries, songs and others.
