Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir reported 65 fresh positive cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) Saturday which took the cumulative infection tally to 4,54,742, officials said.

They said 46 of the fresh cases were reported from Jammu division and 19 from Kashmir, even as 21 patients were discharged from various hospitals, including 16 from Jammu division and five from Kashmir, in the last 24 hours after their recuperation, they said.

Providing district-wise breakup for positive cases today, they informed that Jammu district reported 38 cases, Srinagar reported 18 cases, Samba reported five cases, Udhampur reported two cases, Baramulla and Poonch reported one case each, while no other district across the Union Territory reported any fresh case.

No new case of Mucormycosis (b;ack fungus) was reported today, they said.

On vaccination, they informed that 8,262 doses of COVID vaccine were administered in the last 24 hours bringing the cumulative number of doses administered so far across J&K to 2,32,33,291.

Out of 4,54,742 positive cases recorded cumulative so far in J&K, currently there are 294 active positive cases in the UT, including 188 in Jammu division and 106 in Kashmir, while  4,49,693 persons have recovered and 4,755 have died – 2,425 in Kashmir and 2,330 in Jammu division.
