Agri Deptt to develop all agriculture farms on modern scientific lines: Director
SRINAGAR: The Director Agriculture Kashmir, Chowdhary Mohammad Iqbal, today visited Seed Multiplication Farm Allowpora, Pulwama.
While interacting with the concerned officers and technical staff of the farm, the Director said that the focus of the Department is to develop all agriculture farms on modern scientific lines.
He further said that the SMFs are the most important assets with the Department to achieve the target of self-reliance in the field of seed production, to reduce the dependence on seed coming from outside UT.
Iqbal exhorted the concerned officers and farm managers to invite farmers and agri-entrepreneurs to these farms and hold demonstration sessions with them so that the modern scientific technology could be transmitted to the grassroots level in a comprehensive manner.
During the visit Director Agriculture inspected different farm machinery and other sections of the farm.
