Speaking during the meeting, the ACS appreciated the efforts of DG IMPARD and Director General, Department of Statistics and Planning, for their hard work and efforts in the designing and development of DGGI. He laid stress on incorporating all CSS in DGGI so that the status and information about the position of any District in terms of Good Governance can be accessed with ease.

The ACS highlighted that after the integration of CSS with DGGI position of any district can be compared with other Districts which would help in producing competitive culture among the District Development Councils.

During the meeting, the DG IMPARD gave a detailed presentation and briefed the ACS about the purpose, design and application of DGGI and District Good Governance Dashboard. The DG IMPARD appraised the ACS that five States; Gujrat, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Rajasthan, have approached JK IMPARD and requested for hand-holding and capacity-building support so as to enable them to replicate the model of DGGI in these States.

Pertinently, J&K is the first among the States and Union Territories of India to implement DGGI.
