Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference General Secretary, Ali Muhammad Sagar, on Saturday stated that the party cadre has rendered immense sacrifices for safeguarding the interests of the JK people and that the party will continue to do that in an unswerving manner.

He, according to the NC spokesperson, made these observations while addressing party workers and functionaries from Handwara who had called on him today at the party headquarters at Nawa-e-Subha, Srinagar. Sr Provincial Vice President Mohammad Syed Akhoon, District President Srinagar Peer Afaq, Province Vice President Ahsan Pardesi were also present at the meeting.

The top-down modus operandi in policy framing, Sagar said, has no place in NC and for that matter in any democratic setup. For NC to deepen its roots ever more than before, it is imperative for our zonal, district functionaries to value workers. He added that strengthening of the bottom-up model holds the key to making the party stronger to take on the challenges in the future.

Exhorting the functionaries and workers to take party mission to every doorstep, Sagar said, “National Conference has done a lot in empowering people politically since its inception by providing a vibrant platform to people from different religious and regional backgrounds and ensured their participation in the decision making at all levels.”
