Srinagar: Police in Ganderbal recovered an abducted minor girl and arrested an accused person involved in the crime, police spokesman said Tuesday.
He said on Monday (June 13), Police Post Nagbal received a written complaint from a resident of Shuhama Nagbal regarding the abduction of his minor granddaughter.
A case was registered, and during investigation, a police team raided various suspected places for recovery of the abducted girl, and subsequently recovered her in Srinagar at Nehru, and also arrested the accused kidnapper, who was identified as Aquib Ahamd Lone, son of Ghulam Mohammad Lone, resident of Bumai Sopore, police said.
After completion of legal formalities, the girl was handed over to her legal heirs while further investigation into the matter is on.
