Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Development Corporation celebrated World Environment Day 2022 at Srinagar Headquarter, Regional Office Jammu and across all the units in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
A pledge-taking ceremony, presided by MD, was also held wherein the employees of the Corporation committed to keeping the environment clean, free from pollution, conserving natural resources and making the lifestyle environmentally friendly.
The employees also pledged to plant at least 50 trees each this year and a target of planting more than 32000 plants/trees by December 2022.
As a part of the program, an essay competition on the topic “Sustainable Tourism” will be held on June 15. Five winners of the competition shall be given free accommodations for 2 nights and three days at the destination of their choice.
