Raghav Langar reviews functioning of Planning, Development & Monitoring Deptt

SRINAGAR: Secretary, Planning, Development and Monitoring Department, Dr. Raghav Langer, today chaired an interactive session at Civil Secretariat with senior officers of planning cadre currently working with different administrative and line departments to review functioning of the department.

He applauded the planning officers for putting in place a vibrant and dynamic organisational setup accomplishing multifarious assignments. He said that the Planning section is the backbone of all departments and as such the capacities and skills of the officers of E&S cadre need to be further strengthened to meet current and future requirements.

He stressed upon the planning officers, working in various departments, to ensure tangible outcomes by virtue of coordinated efforts and use of IT enabled tools. He advised to sensitize the line departments for timely consolidation and submission of information like MPR, replies, status updates etc. Setting up of SDG (Sustainable Development Goals) Co-ordination centre under the ambit of the Planning Department is already underway and needs to be expedited to attain desired goals through interdisciplinary approach, he added.

With regard to the BEAMS portal, the Secretary suggested up-gradation of the portal which shall be discussed with the concerned quarters for getting real-time information available on it.

While reviewing the performance of various sections, the Secretary lauded the efforts of the department in developing the concept and creation of Aspirational Blocks on the pattern of Aspirational Districts. He instructed the Planning Officers to be active participants in development of DGGI 2.0 version by providing timely feedback to the Directorate of E&S.

Secretary stated that the department is in the process of creation of PPP and Project Appraisal cells which shall have a far-reaching impact on outcome-based progress of infrastructural development in the UT. Besides, it will help in achieving the target of embedding a Third Party Quality Monitoring Agency in the Department.

Secretary assured timely settlement of all service-related issues of the employees.
