Comm Secy SWD inspects functioning of MSK, OSC, ICPH at Shopian

Shopian: Commissioner Secretary, Social Welfare Department (SWD), Sheetal Nanda, today visited Shopian and inspected the Integrated Child Protection Home (ICPH), Mahila Shakti Kendra (MSK) and One Stop Center (OSC) functioning in the district besides reviewing facilities being made available to the inmates in the shelter home. 

Deputy Commissioner, Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishya, Mission Director ICPS, Harvinder Kour and other officers were present on the occasion.

Sheetal Nanda also inspected various ongoing development works at Girls Home, Shopian and directed for ensuring completion of the same within the stipulated time frame.

Commissioner Secretary instructed for creating mass awareness among the people regarding various welfare measures being implemented through ICPS.

She directed for taking out child protection services in the district to the next level which will act as a boon for all the children of the district in particular and UT in general.

Commissioner Secretary also took stock of working of observation homes in the district besides enquiring about staff position and other facilities in these vital units of ICPS.

DCPO, Shopian, briefed about work done status in the district besides highlighting activities undertaken by them on Child Rights and Child Protection.

District Programme Officer, Nasir Ahmad, District Child Protection Officer, Showkat Ahmed, officers and officials of Mission Directorate ICPS/Women Empowerment, District Child Protection Unit besides staff of Girls Home accompanied the Commissioner Secretary.
