Chowdhary Mohammad Iqbal monitors agri activities in Khansahib Budgam

BUDGAM: The Director Agriculture Kashmir, Chowdhary Mohammad Iqbal today visited various villages of Khansahab area of Budgam and monitored the agriculture activities in the farmers’ fields.

Iqbal also interacted with the beekeepers regarding the interventions offered by the Department for their smooth working.

While having interactive meetings with the farmers of the different villages, Director reaffirmed the commitment to reach out to the farming community in every nook and corner of the valley. He said that the department’s farmer outreach program will continue in the coming days also. He said the department is putting all the efforts in making sure that all the latest technologies and interventions reach the farmers’ fields.

Iqbal asked the farmers of the concerned area to explore the available resources and go for the integrated way of farming. He said agriculture is the only sector that could boost the economy of the region and also gave awareness regarding the schemes implemented by the Department like KCC, Soil Health Card, PM-Kisan, etc.

Director asked the officers/officials of the department to organize awareness programs for the farmers so that modern interventions reach them on time. He said that awareness among the farming community with respect to the centrally sponsored schemes could play a big role in making the targets of development and socio-economic transformations of the farming community.
