J&K logs 11 cases of Covid-19

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir logged 11 fresh positive cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) I the last 24 hours which took the cumulative infection tally to 4,54,170, officials said Thursday.

They said nine of the fresh cases were reported from Jammu division and two from Kashmir Valley, while as 10 more patients were discharged from various hospitals after their recuperation, including six from Jammu division and four from Kashmir.

Providing district-wise breakup for positive cases for today, they informed that Jammu district reported all nine cases from the division while Srinagar and Baramulla districts of Kashmir reported one case each.

No new case of mucormycosis (black fungus) was reported today, they said.

On vaccination, the daily media bulletin informed that 12,100 doses of Covid vaccine were administered in the last 24 hours bringing the cumulative number of doses administered so far across J&K to 2,29,53,430.

According to the bulletin, out of 4,54,170 positive cases recorded cumulatively in J&K so far, currently there are 54 active positive cases in the UT, including 41 in Jammu division and 13 in Kashmir, while 4,49,364 person have recovered so far and 4,752 have died – 2,424 in Kashmir and 2,328 in Jammu division.

Active COVID-19 cases in country dip to 15,419

India added 2,364 new coronavirus infections taking the total tally of COVID-19 cases to 4,31,29,563, while the active cases declined to 15,419, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Thursday.

The death toll climbed to 5,24,303 with 10 fresh fatalities, the data updated at 8 am stated.

The active cases comprise 0.04 percent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate was recorded at 98.75 percent, the ministry said.

A decrease of 228 cases has been recorded in the active COVID-19 caseload in a span of 24 hours.

The daily positivity rate was recorded at 0.50 percent and the weekly positivity rate was recorded at 0.55 percent, according to the ministry.

The number of people who have recuperated from the disease surged to 4,25,89,841, while the case fatality rate was recorded at 1.22 percent.

The cumulative doses administered in the country so far under the nationwide COVID-19 vaccination drive has exceeded 191.79 crore.
